Bhartiya City’s ‘Run For The City’ kicked off this Sunday, 18th May, 2014. Hundreds of Nikoohome owners, friends and employees came together at SreeKanteerava Stadium to celebrate sport, style and culture.

Bhartiya City, a one-of-its-kind integrated urban development spanning 125-acres near Hebbal, came together on the track as the running enthusiasts participated in the 7th edition of TCS World10 K Bangalore, 2014.

Over 25,000 runners, including some of the finest track and field athletes from around the world, participated in the marathon. Geoffrey Kamworoor-Kipsang obliterated the 6-year old course record with an excellent 27:44 clocking, while Lucy Kabuu led a Kenyan podium sweep in the women’s race, also with a brilliant new time of 31:48. Brand Ambassador and legendary athlete Carl Lewis encouraged the participants along with other celebrities who had come over here to support the ever-increasing number of participants in the Namma Run. John Abraham and Puneeth Rajkumar, the faces of the event, flagged off the marathon.

‘Run For The City’ served up a unique experience that fit perfectly with Bengaluru’s character and energy, and reinforced Bhartiya City’s dedication to a healthy and active lifestyle. The runners participation contributed towards the noble causes that the World 10K stands for. Commenting on Bhartiya City’s participation, G Raghavan, CEO Bhartiya City said, “Bhartiya City is proud to associate with this spectacular event for the first time with our Run for the City theme. At Bhartiya City, we believe equally in building category-defying well designed homes for people as well as creating a city with outdoor public realms that encourage a lifestyle that is active, sporty and fun-filled.”
