POM POM: A Blast from the Past

There used to be a time in Bengaluru. A time when the streets were green, and the air was clear. A time when life went about at a leisurely pace. People looked less at their watches, and more at each other when they spoke. Come evening and everyone would come down from their homes. Adults, children, grandpas and grandmas.

Just then the Ice Cream man would arrive. He would honk his peculiar honk, a honk everyone was almost waiting for. You might be knitting, or in the middle of a conversation or in the middle of a game, and you like everyone else, would drop activities as if on cue, and come rushing over to the Ice Cream man. Enjoying that ice cream as the sun set would complete a perfectly satisfying day.

It is from this era, that the Victoria Ice Cream truck arrives each day, making its way to Bhartiya City. You’ll find it parked at SEZ at 12 noon. If you missed it there, then you’ll find it at the Nikoo I precinct at 5:30 pm. It’s the spot where you’ll see quite a gathering of children of all ages, bonding over 6 wonderful flavours of Ice Cream. Hoping to see you there soon.
