Top 10 Things to Do in the City

23.06.16 By Bhartiya City

From outdoor concerts to movie pods for cosying down and watching your favourite film, there’s lots going on in this city. Here are our top ten suggestions on how to make the most of your time in this magical city.

1. Sign up to an event

From wine festivals to IT events and everything in between, our team of expert event planners are working around the clock to ensure the biggest and brightest new events pass through the City of Joy. Puma Stampede, India’s only multi-city corporate running event, came to Bhartiya in 2016 and we hope it will return year on year along with a whole host other big events. Signing up to a Bhartiya organised event is always a great day out and comes complete with a buzzing atmosphere that resonates around the city for days after the event is over.

2. Catch a concert

We’ve already played host to some of the world’s biggest names in music and our open air arena is slowly becoming India’s go to venue for artists all over the world. Whilst veteran rockers Guns N’ Roses’ guitar work had our jaws on the floor, anthemic dance music superstar Tiesto had our fists pumping. It doesn’t matter if you’re a rocker or a jazz lover, we make sure to put on concerts for everyone. If you’re looking for something more relaxed, head down to the Performing Arts Centre in Central Park. It’s our dedicated hub for lovers of the arts. We’ve got a full calendar of events for you to enjoy featuring the biggest acts from Bangalore and beyond, and it’s right on your doorstep.

3. Walk the skywalk

The Bhartiya City skywalk is set to be one of the most popular spots in the city. With pockets of green in all directions and every blade of grass manicured with precision, it’s the ideal space to take a stroll and to let your mind wander. Enjoy a bird’s eye view of the city home below as you picnic, walk, run, play, relax and meet up high in the sky.

4. Dine al fresco in Central Park

Grab some friends and a blanket, stop at the local convenience store on your way down to stock up on your favourite snacks and enjoy a picnic in the beautifully landscaped Central Park. With trees for shade and water for dipping toes, it’s the perfect spot for a lazy afternoon spent underneath the sun. Bring along a few of your favourite games or challenge your picnicking neighbours to a game of cricket- there’s plenty of space for everyone amid this 7 acre expanse of green.

5. Explore the Discovery Centre

Whether you’re a resident or a visitor to the city, the Discovery Centre is your go to place for an afternoon of Bhartiya-inspired education. Consider it the city’s museum. Here you can learn all about the conception of the City of Joy, witness the build in the amphitheatre, explore a Nikoo Home or get hands on with the interactive exhibitions. And after all that, you can relax with a cup of coffee in the Discovery Centre’s café- we serve the best around.

6. Shop

For shopaholics the world over the Bhartiya City high street is nothing short of a fashion-centric dream. Inspired by the streets of London, Paris and New York, you’ll find the biggest names on your doorstep with endless boutiques and impressive malls to explore. Make a day of it and try the city’s newest restaurants and cafes on the boulevard.

7. Watch the sun set

As the temperature begins to drop and the pace of city life begins to slow down, there’s a certain magic at dusk in Bhartiya City. Head to one the dedicated sunset points located throughout the city to see the big yellow disc disappear behind the city’s high-rises. Watch as the Indian sky is painted a thousand shades of orange, pink and yellow before turning to black, revealing the sparkle of the city skyline.

8. Take up a new hobby

If you’ve always wanted to learn the piano or how to make a classic chili jam, the Learning Centre is the place to master the art. As part of our pledge to create spaces, environments, groups, activities and neighbourhoods that people want to be part of we created a place to learn, no matter your age. The Learning Centre was made for one and all, so whether you’re 8 or 80, sign up to a class and challenge your mind.

9. Old Victoria

She’s the Opera House to Sydney and the Houses of Parliament to London- if you don’t know Old Victoria, you don’t know Bhartiya City.  She makes the rounds once a day and is at the heart of our community.  A hint of nostalgia and a love for all things fun inspired us to create the Bhartiya City ice cream truck. Ice-cold treats served with a smile are heading your way come rain or shine. Central park at 5pm.

10. Visit the Farmers’ Market

Every Saturday, the freshest produce from your local farmers arrives on your doorstep at Bhartiya City. Spend a morning wandering the vibrant market. Taste new sensations. Enjoy new aromas. Ask questions. Make friends with the sellers. At the end of it all, whip up a meal that does justice to great ingredients.
